David has acted in a broad range of public law cases on behalf of Local Authorities, private parties (including parents, grandparents and aunts) and Guardians. Cases with which David has had considerable experience include those involving allegations of neglect, physical and sexual abuse, non-accidental injury, domestic violence, and substance misuse. David also has experience in public law cases involving the Official Solicitor.
David regularly acts in contested private law proceedings ranging from residence and contact disputes to cases concerning removal from jurisdiction and change of name. He has considerable experience in Finding of Fact (Re: L) hearings and his practice in private law work has led to an increasing number of appearances in the High Court.
David has developed a practice around his interest in TOLATA and, as a result, he also receives instruction in ancillary relief matters (for both private and publicly-funded clients). His experience in this area extends to cases involving businesses, foreign assets, pensions and intervening third party interests.
David regularly receives instructions in injunctions and committals.
Characteristic of an active common law practice, David regularly receives instruction in civil work including personal injury and clinical negligence. Where possible, David draws on the advantages afforded to him through his professional qualifications and experiences attained before being called to the Bar.
David practises in other areas including: insolvency, contract disputes and claims based in tort. He will accept instructions on a conditional fee basis.
