    Commercial Contract Disputes
    Commercial contract disputes in the High Court, County Court and Arbitrations. He is also an experienced Mediation Advocate and Civil Dispute Mediator. He has acted as a Mediator in over 40 cases, both in this jurisdiction and abroad, and by private appointment and Court nomination.

    Professional Negligence & Personal Injury
    Professional negligence & personal injury including clinical negligence and major claims arising out of accidents at work.

    Insolvency
    Insolvency including both corporate and personal cases. Derek has considerable experience in dealing with cases in which directors are personally at risk for the activities of their company

    Family Finance
    Family finance including in particular high net worth cases where there are issues arising out of companies and partnership businesses.

    Mediation
    Regularly involved in mediation and arbitration, he has a reputation as a strong incisive advocate supported by excellent negotiating skills. He is also a fully qualified mediator and would be pleased to conduct mediation in his fields of expertise.

    Derek is a general civil law practitioner with particular interest in contract disputes and tort based claims. He has a substantial personal injury and insolvency practice and is often involved in ancillary relief cases where there are large business assets. He will be pleased to accept work on a direct professional access basis where permitted by the rules and undertakes a considerable amount of conditional fee work.
