    Public / Private Law Children
    Douglas specialises in the law relating to families and children (both public and private law cases). He is particularly experienced in sensitive and difficult cases involving the care of children.

    Ancillary Relief
    He also conducts ancillary relief cases and claims arising out of cohabitation and civil partnership, as well as claims under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989. He is known as a negotiator in this field.

    Mental Health / Community Care Law
    Douglas has a keen interest in mental health and social care issues and is very knowledgeable about the care of the elderly and care home legislation. He advises Local Authorities on administration of care homes and adult social care accommodation.
