College Chambers was founded in 1989 by Robin Belben and Roger Shawcross (later His Honour Judge Shawcross), following a breakaway from two leading London sets. Over the last twenty years we have grown into a highly regarded and diverse set of chambers, now consisting of twenty-seven members. A number of our past members have become full time judges. Amongst our current members, we have part-time judges including a Recorder, Deputy District Judge, Employment Judge and a Tribunal Judge of the Mental Health Review Tribunal. Our reputation is based on our work as specialist advocates. We are committed to providing the reliable service which our clients expect and deserve.
In 2003 we became one of the first sets of chambers to earn the Legal Services Commission 'Quality Mark', for the management and organisation of Chambers. Furthermore College Chambers remains committed to the Bar Council's Code of Practice and complies fully with the Practice Management Standards and Guidelines for the Bar.
