Joanne is a family law barrister, specialising in child law, in both public and private law cases, acting for parents and other family members also for local authorities. She has experience in the High Court, County Court and Family Proceedings Court, having been involved in cases concerning serious allegations of emotional, physical and sexual abuse.
She is also experienced in adoption cases and Special Guardianship applications. Joanne has represented clients with psychiatric and psychological problems and those with learning difficulties.
Many of her cases involve input from experts, in relation to drug and alcohol addictions. She also represents parties in family law injunctions, including committal hearings, with extensive experience in this area of work, having been a family solicitor before being called to the Bar.
