Amy Beddis (2009)


Amy has developed a mixed practice across Chambers' key areas of work. Prior to commencing her career at the Bar Amy worked in the civil service, as a Senior Adviser for the Commission for Rural Communities, where she completed her Bar Vocational Course part time over a two year period. Amy also worked as a Policy Officer for the National Housing Federation, the trade body for housing associations, and therefore understands the needs of both housing providers and tenants. Throughout her career Amy has worked with Government departments, local authorities, housing associations, charities and social enterprises alongside businesses from the private sector. Amy is experienced in general civil cases and can be instructed for a number of different hearings across all tracks. Amy is a qualified civil and commercial mediator. In addition to Chambers core areas of law, Amy regularly undertakes prosecution and defence work in the Crown and Magistrates courts on a range of criminal trials and preparatory hearings. Amy has been instructed on a number of cases involving fraud, assault, theft and sensitive cases involving domestic violence. Amy has developed a successful practice in defending road traffic offences and regularly accepts instructions in this area.Amy prides herself on being approachable, practical and client focused.
