Environmental Statement

We operate a programme of continual improvement in our environmental performance and prevention of pollution, aiming to minimise the environmental impact resulting from our activities. We will comply with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations and any other requirements to which College Chambers subscribes. Improvements in our environmental performance will be achieved by minimising:

  • consumption of energy, where practical.
  • waste, reusing and recycling, where practical.

The environment forms the surroundings in which we live and work, therefore including everything around us, such land, air, water, natural resources, plants, animals and other people.

An environmental impact is a positive or negative change to the environment, either from natural causes or as a result of human activities; we are predominantly concerned about negative impacts to the environment, resulting from our operations.

The environmental impact about which we should be most concerned and try to minimise includes:

  • Energy consumption
We try to minimise our consumption of energy and not waste energy unnecessarily.
  • Waste generation and disposal
We produce a wide variety of waste materials, which must be disposed of, complying with environmental legislation.

Benefits

We can benefit from improved utilisation of resources, increased efficiency, avoidance of legal liabilities, decreased risk of environmental accidents and emergencies, improved company image, marketing value, improved relations with like-minded companies.
