"Well regarded at all levels of call, College Chambers' family team undertakes a broad spectrum of public and private law children cases, including care and adoption matters and international relocation disputes."

Legal 500 2015

We undertake a wide variety of work in all courts from the Family Proceedings Court to the Court of Appeal and beyond. Our barristers regularly undertake family law matters including multiple applications, for example combining private law children, injunctions and financial matters.

We accept instructions in cases involving an international component including child abduction under the Hague Convention and applications for leave to remove children from the jurisdiction. Members of Chambers have experience with cases involving jurisdictional issues.

Our practice areas include:

  • Children Act 1989 applications including Child Arrangement Orders
  • Enforcement, committals and appeals
  • Representation of interveners and extended family members
  • Representation of Rule 9.5 Guardians
  • Representation of clients involving the Official Solicitor

"Family law is a cornerstone of College Chambers’ practice with over half the set practising in the area. Members are well versed in finance cases as well as proceedings involving neglect and sexual abuse. Anthony Hand was in the Court of Appeal in 2015 representing a local authority in a case that is now the leading authority on the law of making an interim care order." - Legal 500 (2016)
