The College Chambers Property Group comprises of barristers of all levels of seniority. Our members appear in the County, High and Appellate Courts and before the Adjudicator to the Lands Tribunal. Our work involves:
- Boundary and Neighbour Disputes
- Easements and Rights of Way
- Adverse Possession
- Restrictive Covenants
- Trespass
- Nuisance
- Mortgages
- Land Registration
In addition, we have conducted Mediations in this type of claim both as Mediation Advocates and as Mediators.
Our aim is to gain an early understanding of the case by conducting site meetings and conferences. We recognise that the problem between neighbours is often much more than appears on paper, so we try to focus on commercial considerations and the underlying concerns of our clients as to their rights and obligations.
We regularly act for private clients in this type of dispute, but have also represented large commercial companies who become involved in nuisance claims and both for and against local authorities in connection with their statutory and common law duties in relation to their ownership and occupation of land. Several of our members have a wide knowledge of business tenancy cases, and we have specialist knowledge and experience of housing and private landlord claims, including applications for injunctions made by social landlords.
In conjunction with our Family Law Group, we have considerable experience of Trusts of Land claims and disputes between cohabiting couples and extended families.
