College Chambers

Family Law Act Injunctions

Members of College Chambers are regularly instructed to represent both Applicants and Respondents in proceedings concerning Family Law Act injunctions.  This includes applications for non-molestation, occupation and transfer of tenancy orders.  We appreciate that these applications are often made in emergencies, and our dedicated Clerking team will endeavour to assist you even with the most short notice listing. We have barristers who can be instructed both on a Legal Aid (where available) and private basis (including through Direct Access).

We recognise that these cases often also involve connected Children and Family Finance proceedings or issues. The wider expertise of our team means that our barristers will be alive to those other competing and conflicting issues when dealing with the current case. Our barristers can advise and guide both professional and lay clients through the process.

If you let the Clerking team know that there are other applications or proceedings at the time of booking they will assist you in identifying the most suitable barrister.

Our team has experience in:

  • Cases involving all forms of domestic abuse, including physical, verbal and sexual abuse as well as controlling and coercive behaviour.
  • Representing and advising parties in applications for non-molestation and/or occupation orders as well as transfer of tenancy applications.
  • Representing parties at ex-parte and urgent applications.
  • Representing parties at all stages of proceedings from the initial first hearing, through to directions hearings and final hearings.
  • Representing parties at committal proceedings.
  • Dealing with cases involving medical evidence, medical experts and police disclosure.
