Overview

Harrison joined College Chambers in October 2018 after successfully completing his pupillage at a set on the Wales and Chester Circuit. Prior to undertaking pupillage, he worked as a County Court advocate on the Western Circuit and conducted a wide variety of cases including small claim and case management hearings, general applications under the CPR and infant settlements.

Harrison is regularly instructed to appear in the County Court on a wide range of civil law matters including small claim and fast track trials, credit hire, infant settlement and MOJ Stage 3 hearings. Harrison acts for both claimants and defendants in such matters. Harrison has appeared in Costs and Case Management Conferences for both claimants and defendants.

Harrison regularly appears for the Police in civil applications for Sexual Harm Prevention Orders and Sexual Risk Orders against individuals who present a risk of sexual harm to others. Harrison has also represented the Police in applications for Closure Orders, Destruction Orders and Forfeiture Orders.

Harrison is available to advise in writing in relation to quantum and prospects of success and is also available to draft statements of case.


Employment

Harrison accepts instructions to appear for Claimants and Respondents in the Employment Tribunal. Harrison represents parties at both preliminary hearings and final hearings. Harrison is also able to offer advice before proceedings have been issued. 

Harrison is able to accept instructions in respect of all types of employment claims. Harrison offers clear and realistic advice at all stages of litigation. Harrison is meticulous in his preparation of drafting documents including advice on the merits of a claim, list of issues and skeleton arguments.

In February 2026, Harrison successfully represented a Respondent in defending a claim brought against a University for Unfair Dismissal


Family

Harrison has experience of acting for both applicants and respondents in private family proceedings relating to child arrangements orders and other section 8 applications.

Harrison also acts for applicants and respondents in proceedings involving non-molestation orders and occupation orders. Harrison regularly acts for applicants in emergency applications for such injunctions.


Education

Harrison has experience of acting for both applicants and respondents in the First-Tier Tribunal (Special Educational Needs and Disability). He has successfully appeared for an applicant challenging the Local Authoritys proposed Special Educational Needs school under an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Harrison has also appeared for a Local Authority in an appeal against the social care provision detailed in an EHCP.


Crime

Harrison has been regularly instructed to prosecute and defend in the Magistrates Court. He is a Level 1 CPS Prosecutor on the CPS Advocate Panel Scheme. Harrison has experience of a wide range of offences heard in the Magistrates Court and he has experience of dealing with vulnerable witnesses and has dealt with a number of cases involving domestic abuse.


Housing

Harrison has been instructed in respect of landlord and tenant matters and has acted for applicants in possession hearings.

Education: MC v C

Harrison appeared for the Applicant Mother in a successful appeal pursuant to the Children and Families Act 2014 in the First-Tier Tribunal (Special Educational Needs and Disability).

The Local Authority school proposed in the child’s Education, Health and Care plan was deemed not appropriate by the Tribunal. The Tribunal ordered that the Applicant’s preferred special educational needs school be named in Section I of the child’s EHCP.

Civil: KG v MCE ICL

Harrison appeared for the Defendant in a Small Claims hearing where credit hire charges were in dispute. Under cross-examination the Claimant accepted that she had not signed the credit hire agreement, her partner had done so, without her knowledge or permission. The proceedings were brought in the name of the Claimant only. Following submissions on agency, the District Judge held that the contract was unenforceable and dismissed the claim for credit hire.

Civil: CH v PH LTD

Harrison appeared for the Defendant, a national housebuilding company, in a Small Claims hearing. The Claimant had brought a claim against the Defendant to recover legal fees which they had incurred following alleged snagging issues upon the purchase of a house. Following submissions, the District Judge dismissed the claim and awarded the Defendant costs for unreasonable behaviour on the part of the Claimant.

Crime: R v DC

Harrison appeared for a Defendant who had pleaded guilty to speeding. The Defendant had been travelling at 108mph in a 60mph limit. Following mitigation and submissions, Harrison persuaded the magistrates to impose 6 penalty points rather than to disqualify the Defendant from driving.

Crime: R v WB

Harrison represented a Defendant charged with a s4a Public Order offence and a Racially Aggravated s4a Public Order offence, contrary to section 31(1)(b) of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. There was a witness to the incident in which the Defendant was alleged to have racially abused the Complainant. The Defendant had a previous conviction for a Racially Aggravated s4a offence. Harrison cross-examined the Complainant and the witness and secured an acquittal on both charges.
