Rhys joined chambers as a tenant in April 2025, following the successful completion of his pupillage.
During his pupillage at College, Rhys received instructions in all of Chambers’ practice areas, with a great deal of work in civil matters in both the local County Courts and in London. Rhys also appeared regularly in the Magistrates’ Court and, on occasion, in the Crown Court. Rhys also completed the ‘Pupil Pledge’ and is keen to assist those who are unable to secure legal representation.
In addition to civil and criminal matters, Rhys receives regular instructions in Children Act and Family Law Act proceedings, having dealt with matters from the first hearing to the final hearing.
Since becoming a tenant, Rhys has received repeated instructions in SEND, housing, civil, and criminal matters, securing successful outcomes for his clients.
Although Rhys accepts instructions across all Chambers’ practice areas, he has a keen interest in civil, housing, SEND, criminal, and quasi-public law matters.
Before pupillage, Rhys attended Cambridge University while working part-time at the local Coroner’s Office. During pupillage, Rhys submitted his thesis and was awarded an MPhil. In addition to the MPhil, Rhys holds an LLM (Distinction) from Durham University.
Outside the legal world, Rhys has been blessed with two young children who keep him very active. Rhys has long given up his pursuit of becoming a professional sportsman, but he remains a keen enthusiast of watching rugby and rowing.

Successfully persuading the judge to impose a community order rather than an 18-month prison sentence for his client, following the client’s conviction for possession of over 1000 indecent images, including Class A, B and C images.

Representing a national pub chain in an eviction application.
Dealing with evictions under the Mobile Homes Act 1983.
Instructed by both Local Authorities and tenants in matters relating to eviction, warrant for entry, and anti-social behaviour matters.
Representing the Local Authority in a £1.2 million appeal concerning Sections B,F,I and social care recommendations.
Successfully preventing a non-molestation application from being dismissed after it emerged that the applicant had misled the court about their accusations against the respondent.
