From the M4 take junction 4B and merge on to the M25(S). At Junction 12, exit onto M3 towards Southampton. At junction 14 exit towards Southampton / A33. At the Chilworth Roundabout, take the second exit signposted A33. Follow The Avenue towards the City Centre through a number of traffic lights. The road branches off to The Docks and City Centre. Follow the sign for City Centre onto London Road. Carlton Crescent is the first road on the right, immediately past the zebra crossing.

Take Junction 3 off the M27 signposted Southampton M271. Follow the M271 to the Redbridge flyover. At the roundabout, take the first turning onto the A35. Continue on this road towards the City Centre until the traffic lights by the Novotel Hotel. Turn left and cross over the railway line. At the roundabout, take the second exit into Commercial Road. Continue past the Mayflower Theatre to the traffic lights. Turn left onto Cumberland Place. Continue through a number of traffic lights until you reach a left filter lane signposted M3. Turn left onto London Road and continue past the row of shops. Carlton Crescent is on your left just before the zebra crossing.

Take Junction 5 off the M27 signposted Southampton and Airport. Take the first exit off the roundabout (A335). Continue on the dual carriageway, through one set of traffic lights, until you reach another set of lights signposted City Centre. Continue on Thomas Lewis Way through a major crossroads and where the road reduces to one lane. Continue through the traffic lights signposted St Denys Station until you reach a further set of lights. Turn right and continue through the next set of lights. Follow this road (Lodge Road) until you reach the junction with The Avenue. Turn left onto The Avenue at the lights. The road branches off to The Docks and City Centre. Follow the sign for City Centre onto London Road. Carlton Crescent is the first road on the right, immediately past the zebra crossing.
