Timescales
Timescales for your case will depend on a number of factors including barristers availability, the complexity of your case and your requirements, the jurisdictions involved in your case, the availability of the Courts for listing your matter, any additional documents or experts that may need instructing and importantly the approach of the other parties and their counsel.
Timescales may also be affected by any existing negotiations and agreements that you may have made with other parties involved.
As an indication, relatively straightforward cases tend to have a hearing date listed in Court within 8-12 months of a claim being issued.
Timescales can be reduced if parties are open to seeking an agreement by using alternative dispute resolution methods.
Fees
College Chambers provide advice and take instruction on a wide variety of cases. Each case has its own unique set of circumstances that may affect the costs involved.
Before accepting instruction, we will endeavor to properly understand your circumstances and requirements. Following this we will always give you a cost quotation at the start of your instruction and you are under no obligation to instruct. Throughout proceedings we will always keep you up to date on costs.
College Chambers most commonly charge using a fixed fee, which will have been agreed upon in advance. Another way of charging is by hourly rates, which again will be set out and agreed upon in your initial quotation from us.
Please note our costs are plus VAT.
